ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico—Jason Coleman not only won his Trophy Truck Spec class at the 34th SCORE San Felipe 250 earlier this month, but because his class had the most starters of all in the race with a SCORE-record 34 trucks, he is also the SCORE Overall and Trophy Truck Spec class point leader after Round 1 of the four-race 2021 SCORE World Desert Championship.
Following the 280.20-mile season opener in the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization, the top 11 point leaders are separated by just 13 total points in the 2021 SCORE Overall point standings. NEXT UP

Jason Coleman, 36, of Huntington Beach, Calif., earned his first SCORE class win when he defeated a SCORE-record field of 34 starters in the Trophy Truck Spec class at the BFGoodrich Tires 34th SCORE San Felipe 250, presented by Ford.
Coleman leads his class and the SCORE overall point standings after one race with 124 season points in his No. 292 Chevy-powered Herbst/Smith-built truck.
Driving solo in San Felipe, Coleman reflected at the finish line, “What a great day. We just charged right from the start and began picking the guys off pretty early and one by one and all of a sudden, towards the end, we were second truck on the road. No issues, no flats, BFGoodrich tires were solid all day. We just kept pushing; it was a great, especially winning a SCORE Baja race.” POINT REGS
SCORE point regulations for 2021 have all four races counting for final points toward season point championships. Racers are allowed one substitute driver for the season but the driver/rider of record must either start or finish the season-ending SCORE Baja 1000.
SCORE points are calculated on a set amount of start points and finish points for each race along with a variable amount for placement points for finishers based on the number of starters within each class. TOP 11 IN OVERALL POINTS
