King Shocks inks three-year agreement to be title sponsor of King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250

Season opener for four race 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship;
Online racer registration closes tomorrow (March 11) at 5 p.m. PT;

Pre-running on 277.00-mile course opens on March 19 at 8 a.m. PT

ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico – Starting their 10th year as the SCORE World Desert Championship’s Official Shock, King Shock Technology, Inc. has expanded its involvement with SCORE by signing a three-year agreement to become the title sponsor of the popular SCORE San Felipe 250 held in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico.
This year’s King Shocks 35th SCORE San Felipe 250 will be held March 30-April 3, returning to the starting and finishing location on El Malecon along the shores of the tranquil waters of the Sea of Cortez. It is the season-opener of the four-race 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship.
“The SCORE World Desert Championship in Baja California, Mexico has provided King Shocks with the perfect environment to test and develop our product lines.  We have been involved with SCORE racers and enthusiasts for 27 years and are excited to now have the legendary SCORE San Felipe 250 carry the King banner in the Title Sponsor position,” stated Brett King, King Shock Technology Owner/President.
The challenging 277.00-mile race course will start and finish and pre-race contingency will be held on El Malecon in the SCORE start/finish line compound for this popular ‘Spring Break’ desert race.
Pre-running opens next Saturday (March 19).
With just over two weeks remaining until race week, 203 entries to date represent 25 U.S. States, one U.S. Territory and seven countries. In addition to the USA, U.S. Territory Puerto Rico, host country Mexico, entries so far have also come from Bolivia, Canada, Costa Rica, England and France.
With double figure entries so far are SCORE Trophy Truck (40), Trophy Truck Spec (37), Pro UTV FI (Forced Induction) with 21 and Class 10 with 13.
San Felipe is 125 miles south of the U.S. Border at Calexico, Calif. on the eastern side of the Baja peninsula along the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez. All four 2022 SCORE races will be held on Mexico’s magnificent Baja California peninsula for the seventh consecutive year.
SCORE, the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization, is celebrating its 49th season in 2022.

King Shock Technology Inc., based in Garden Grove, Calif., is a manufacturer and servicer of custom made adjustable and rebuildable automotive shock absorbers and performance racing products for utility vehicles, OEM replacement and professional racing use.
All parts used in their products are machined in house at their Garden Gove facility from billet alloy materials on precision equipment to exacting standards and hand assembled by their trained technicians.
King Shocks was born out of necessity, long before they opened their doors in 1996. The original designs drawn by Lance King back in the early 1980’s were created to fill the needs of the top level racers of the day like Bill Stroppe, Parnelli Jones and Walker Evans.

For the fourth straight year, the 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship races will air on the ESPN family of networks. The four-races will air as specials on the World of X Games program on ESPN2.
ABC first covered the 1967 and 1968 Baja 1000 races on the old ABC Wide World of Sports show with Jim McKay and again in the late 1980s with veteran motorsports journalists Sam Posey and Jack Arute.
All of the SCORE race coverage shows also continue to air internationally in nearly 25 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and South America via syndication and ESPN International. The shows are co-produced by SCORE International and SoCal’s award-winning BCII TV.
