The new SCORE Motorcycle Legends special editorial section highlights this month’s Vol. 7, No. 9 of the critically-acclaimed SCORE Journal digital magazine is now available online in both English and Spanish.

INSIDE VOL. 7, NO. 9
Vol. 7, No. 8 of the SCORE Journal is once again filled with numerous interesting worth-reading features, stories, captivating images, exciting videos and several news items.
In its seventh year of publishing, the SCORE Journal this month features launches its multi-series on SCORE’s Greatest Motorcycle Racers of All-Time.
This first section goes in-depth with pioneer Hall of Famers Bud and Dave Ekins as well as Malcom Smith. There is also a photo essay on Smith’s 1966 Husqvarna 250, the motorcycle that started a Baja Legacy.
In the SCORE News section leads off with a three-page promo of the unprecedented new SCORE Fan Pages. A colorful and entertaining work in progess features over 1,3000 drivers/riders of record with info, head shots, action shots, videos and SCORE Journal story links as well as official results since 2017.
Also in the SCORE News section is an announcement of the Handstand at 100 mph event to be held in October at the Doffo Winery in Temecula, Calif. The event will honor many of the two-wheel legends of the sport as well as present a special showing of the iconic ‘On any Sunday’ movie as part of the film’s 50th anniversary. Another colorful highlight is a pictorial essay on John Swift’s old Ford BFGoodrich Tires Rough Rider Ford Explorer that he raced to multiple Class 6 SCORE victories when the Rough Riders roamed the deserts of Baja, California and Nevada.
And like all SCORE Journal issues there is a section on the latest in off-road products for racing as well as regular consumer use.

The SCORE Journal, launched in 2015, is published as 12 monthly online digital magazines, which includes four print editions that are available as the SCORE race programs at the races that comprise the SCORE World Desert Championship along with another print edition for the annual SCORE Awards Night.

The SCORE Journal digital magazine, reaching an average of over 1.8 million unique viewers per issue, with an average engagement time of over 27 minutes is a major element in the continuing media expansion that SCORE has implemented. The continually revamped SCORE website also generates an average of over 2 million monthly unique viewers.
SPECIAL NUMBERS
The SCORE Journal digital magazine’s October 2020 (SCORE Baja 1000 preview) issue delivered a record 1.96 million unique viewers/readers. The Spanish version of that SCORE Journal issue recorded over 484,619 unique viewers/readers.
The SCORE website for the race week of the 53rd SCORE Baja 1000 in November of last year had a record 2.3 million unique viewers. The increase was fueled by the expanded live tracking, live streaming, the Weatherman audio feed and race info updates.
During race week for last year’s SCORE Baja 1000, SCORE Facebook generated a record 4.1 million people reached with 421,832 facebook engagements, 50,843 likes and 8,521 shares.
In Social Media Analytic for the 2020 SCORE Baja 1000 race week, data includes SCORE, driver, sponsor, team and media activity. Total social impact shows 2.4 million total social posts analyzed, 2.1 million total interactions, 6.1 million total video impressions and 40.3 million impressions on branded posts.
On the SCORE website during the 2020 SCORE Baja 1000 race week, traffic allocation saw 2,033,219 unique viewers.
And the May 2021 SCORE Journal with its SCORE Baja 500 preview coverage, the total readership was 2.5 million along with 212,453 viewers of the Spanish language edition.
EN ESPANOL!
The SCORE Journal features a Spanish language edition of the magazine on the SCORE website. Spanish-speaking individuals represent nearly 20% of the SCORE Journal unique reader base. The link may be viewed on the menu of the SCORE Journal Magazine tab on the SCORE Website. The Spanish language version of the SCORE Journal will be posted within the week of the English version. The June issue of the 2021 SCORE Journal saw 212,453 views of the issue in Spanish.

ESPN TV NETWORKS AGAIN IN 2021
For the third straight year, the 2021 SCORE World Desert Championship races are airing on the ESPN family of networks. The four-races will air as specials on the World of X Games program on ESPN2.
ABC first covered the 1967 and 1968 Baja 1000 races on the old ABC Wide World of Sports show with Jim McKay and again in the late 1980s with veteran motorsports journalist Sam Posey.
All of the SCORE race coverage shows also continue to air internationally in nearly 25 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and South America via syndication and ESPN International. The shows are co-produced by SCORE International and SoCal’s award-winning BCII TV.
