SCORE Dirt LiveHD show helps promote next month’s inaugural SCORE Imperial Valley 250;
Official race course to be unveiled on Tuesday’s show
SAN DIEGO—Southern California desert racers Danny Prather and Matt Lovell along with Damon Flippo, an executive with Arizona’s Rigid Industries LED Lighting company will all be in the SCORE spotlight during Tuesday’s SCORE Dirt LiveHD internet show. Round 2 of the five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series will be the SCORE Imperial Valley 250, April 24-27 in Plaster City, Calif., 17 miles west of El Centro.
The upcoming race will be taped for airing in the United States and Canada as a one-hour special on the CBS Sports Network. The first of a minimum of two broadcasts of it is scheduled to air on Sunday, June 15 at 9 p.m. EDT. Commentators for the national television show will be Cameron Steele and Chris Jacobs. The race will also air internationally to nearly 200 countries through an international distributor.
During the 12th episode of the 2014 SCORE Dirt LiveHD season at 7 p.m. (PST) Tuesday the special video segment to air will be a promotional piece on the upcoming SCORE Imperial Valley 250 produced by Spectrum Advertising of El Centro, Calif.
The official course map for the SCORE Imperial Valley 250 will also be unveiled during Tuesday night’s show. The race will be a three-lap race over a rugged course of approximately 82 miles. The race will have two designated spectator areas, one adjacent to the nearly eight-mile infield section of the course by the main pits and start/finish line area off of Wheeler Road while the other will be a five-mile section alongside Evan Hewes Highway with viewing of nearly 10 miles on the South End of the race course. The drawing for qualifying and start positions will be held live on the SCORE Dirt LiveHD show of Tuesday, April 8. SCORE Trophy Truck and the unlimited Class 1 for open-wheel desert race cars will have a private qualifying session on Thursday of race week on part of the race course. The balance of the 35 Pro and 6 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs will start in the order received in the April 8 drawing.
With several million viewers in nearly 150 countries in 2013, the SCORE Dirt LiveHD one-hour show is broadcast live weekly and the show is anchored in 2014 around the new SCORE World Desert Championship series which has combined his two desert racing series, the SCORE Desert Series and the High Desert Racing Association.
Prather, 34 of Ramona, Calif., will return to SCORE racing at the SCORE Imperial Valley 250, competing in the Pro ATV class. Prather won the point championship in SCORE Class 25 for open ATVs in both 2006 and 2007 with Mike Cafro, Fallbrook, Calif., as his primary teammate.
Lovell, 37, of Costa Mesa, Calif., is relatively new to desert racing and is scheduled to compete in his first SCORE races this year, June’s SCORE Baja 500 and November’s SCORE Baja 1000. Converting his Ford Ranger into a Class 7 vehicle, Lovell has been a solo driver for the last few years in a U.S. domestic racing series. He has raced in 15 events since he began in 2005 with seven top four finishes.
Flippo is a key executive with Rigid Industries. Since 2004, Rigid Industries of Gilbert, Ariz., has emerged as an industry leader and originator of the most efficient LED lighting solutions. Part of the Rigid Elite Torture Team are several SCORE desert racers led by four-time SCORE Trophy Truck season point champion B.J. Baldwin of Las Vegas.

In addition to 48 shows in 2013 Dirt LiveHD provided live coverage from the three SCORE Baja race weeks, the massive SCORE exhibit at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo, the 2013 SCORE Awards Night and the three HDRA race weeks.

Dirt LiveHD also goes on-site live with expanded event coverage during SCORE events. Live event coverage in 2014 will include the entire five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series of two races in the United States and three in Baja California, Mexico.
