September SCORE Journal spotlights new Baja Boot
& ‘Racing into History II’ book—50th SCORE Baja 500

ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico — Starting with an extensive story on the new Baja Boot car to a colorful feature on the Sourapas twins and a pictorial review of the latest recovery gear are all gloriously glistening in the spotlight this month in Vol. 5, No. 9 of the critically-acclaimed SCORE Journal digital online magazine.

In addition to the Baja Boot, the Sourapas twins and recovery gear, this month’s issue also looks a special purpose-built Chevy pre-runner, a preview of the SCORE Baja 1000 exhibit at this weekend’s Off-Road Expo and welding tips during races and a look at adventure gear for overlanding and camping.

The SCORE Journal digital magazine, reaching an average of nearly 2 million unique viewers per issue with an average engagement time of over 31 minutes is a major element in the continuing media expansion that SCORE has implemented. The continually revamped SCORE website also generates an average of over 2 million monthly unique viewers.
The SCORE Journal digital magazine’s November 2018 (SCORE Baja 1000) issue delivered a record 2.8 million unique viewers/readers. The Spanish version of that SCORE Journal issue recorded 224,628 unique viewers/readers.
The SCORE website for the week of the 51st SCORE Baja 1000 in November of last year had a very strong 1.2 million unique viewers.
Helped by the SCORE live streaming format, The SCORE San Felipe 250 recorded 1,155,904 unique visitors to the SCORE website during race week.
And the SCORE Journal’s March 33rd SCORE San Felipe 250 preview issue was viewed by 1,810,444 unique viewers and our Spanish language edition of the SJ generated over 190,000 unique viewers!
INSIDE VOL. 5, NO. 9
Vol. 5, No. 9 of the SCORE Journal is once again filled with numerous interesting worth-reading features, stories, captivating images, exciting videos and several news items.
This edition is anchored around a colorful, exclusive review of the new Baja Boot car built by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus LLC.
Besides a very interesting introduction to 23-year old second generation desert racing twin brother Brett and Christian Sourapas into the SCORE Trophy Truck field, the issue also includes the annual Recovery Gear guide for racers and enthusiasts, a SANO Industries buil Chevy Pre-Runner and Miller Electric’s Andy Weyenberg and his tips for welding repairs during desert racing events.
The regular SCORE News section includes a memorial to the late racer/TV personality Jessi Combs.
There is also a preview on SCORE’s participation in this weekend’s Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo at the Fairplex in Pomona.

ABC TV IN 2019
The 2019 SCORE World Desert Championship is being televised on the ABC TV family of networks, marking the first time back on the ABC network since the 1967 and 1968 coverage of the Baja 1000 on ABC’s old Wide World of Sports show.
The one-hour shows on the 33rd SCORE San Felipe 250, 51st SCORE Baja 500 and the 52nd SCORE Baja 1000 will be televised as part of ABC’s World of X Games year-long programming. Presented by SCORE sponsors Monster Energy and BFGoodrich Tires, the ABC World of X Games series profiles iconic action sports figures and also highlights athletes, artists, event previews and recaps.
The inaugural Lucerna SCORE Baja 400 will air as a one-hour special on ESPN TV, also on the World of X Games programming.
All of the SCORE race coverage shows continue to air internationally in nearly 25 countries in Europe, Asia and South America via syndication and ESPN International.
