    ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico — March’s issue of the digital SCORE Journal magazine is now live and shines a spectacular spotlight in words, images and videos on a preview of the season-opener of the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization as well as the annual SCORE UTV Performance Buyer’s Guide.
A close look with various features and interviews heading into the season-opening BFGoodrich Tires 34th SCORE San Felipe 250, presented by Ford, are all in this month’s Vol. 7, No. 3 of the critically-acclaimed SCORE Journal digital online magazine that is now available online in both English and Spanish. The SCORE spotlight is also on the annual SCORE UTV Performance Buyer’s  Guide.

In this dynamic and colorful 103-page edition, there are also features several returning racers in 2021 along with a UTV special section with the latest UTV trends in desert racing.

Leading things off are stories on several racers returning after sitting last year out from SCORE Baja racing—Carlos ‘Apdaly’ Lopez, Gustavo Vildosola and his son Tavo Vildosola driving in separate classes and Shelby Reid who will race in Class 1 with her son Cody Reid as the second driver
The annual SCORE UTV Performance Buyer’s Guide includes products as well as the latest safety equipment and apparel with individual features on Polaris, Can-Am, Speed and Honda.
SCORE News section this month includes a remembrance of the late Bruce Meyers.
I also has a breakdown of the 2021 BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Contingency program that totals over $100,000. Included is a $5,000 contingency bonus for the overall winner of the season-opening SCORE San Felipe 250. The contingency bonus for the SCORE Baja 500 will be $25,000 along with $5,000 for the overall winner of the SCORE Baja 400 and $40,000 for the overall 4-wheel champion of the SCORE Baja 1000.
Another special story is a tribute to late racer Pete Sohren whose family will act as Grand Marshal in Pistol Pete’s memory for this year’s BFGoodrich Tires 34th annual SCORE San Felipe 250, presented by Ford.
Completing his issue of the SCORE Journal is a feature on the old Honda Odyssey that started its desert racing at the 1984 SCORE San Felipe 250.

The continually revamped SCORE website also generates an average of over 2 million monthly unique viewers.
The SCORE Journal digital magazine’s October 2020 (SCORE Baja 1000 preview) issue delivered a record 1.96 million unique viewers/readers. The Spanish version of that SCORE Journal issue recorded over 484,619 unique viewers/readers.
The SCORE website for the race week of the 53rd SCORE Baja 1000 in November of last year had a record 2.3 million unique viewers. The increase was fueled by the expanded live tracking, live streaming, the Weatherman audio feed and race info updates.
During race week for last year’s SCORE Baja 1000, SCORE Facebook generated a record 4.1 million people reached with 421,832 facebook engagements, 50,843 likes and 8,521 shares.
In Social Media Analytic for the 2020 SCORE Baja 1000 race week, data includes SCORE, driver, sponsor, team and media activity. Total social impact shows 2,4000 total social posts analyzed, 2.1 million total interactions, 6.1 million total video impressions and 40.3 million impressions on branded posts.
On the SCORE website during the 2020 SCORE Baja 1000 race week, traffic allocation saw 2,033,219 unique viewers.
And the SCORE Journal’s August 52nd SCORE Baja 500 (2020) preview issue was viewed by 1,663,880 readers.
SCORE app on race day for the 2020 SCORE Baja 500 saw 114,900 total active downloads and 179,355 total sessions.
The SCORE Journal features a Spanish language edition of the magazine on the SCORE website. Spanish-speaking individuals represent nearly 20% of the SCORE Journal unique reader base. The link may be viewed on the menu of the SCORE Journal Magazine tab on the SCORE Website. The Spanish language version of the SCORE Journal will be posted within the week of the English version.

For the third straight year, the 2021 SCORE World Desert Championship races are airing on the ESPN family of networks. The four-races will air as specials on the World of X Games program on ESPN2.
ABC first covered the 1967 and 1968 Baja 1000 races on the old ABC Wide World of Sports show with Jim McKay and again in the late 1980s with veteran motorsports journalist Sam Posey.
