30th SCORE San Felipe 250

The first race of the 2016 season began with the 30th Anniversary of the San Felipe 250 in late February. The top contender to win the overall race was Tavo Vildosola, who had already won the race three times in a row (2013, 2014, and 2015). The challenging 249.5-mile single loop course, however, had SCORE's top Trophy Truck competitors such as Vildosola and BJ Baldwin break down, leaving Billy Wilson out of Corpus Christi, Texas, in a perfect position to win the overall SCORE San Felipe and take the first win of the season in the SCORE Trophy Truck division.
