SURVIVING THE GAUNTLET

Dust, rocks, rain, and mud across a 832.67-mile course took its toll on many of the four-wheel classes. But while many racers were not able to finish, there were the few that survived the gauntlet Baja brought down on them. One was Class 7 Champion Dan Chamlee, in the No. 700 Ford Ranger, who earned his second class win of the season at this SCORE Baja 1000.
