SCORE PERSON OF THE YEAR
Imagine a Trophy Truck going through Diablo Dry Lake at 150 mph. That’s how best to describe the current Governor of Baja California, Maria Del Pilar Avila Olmeda. Everybody knows her as Marina del Pilar, who was born in Mexicali and later began her political career five years ago, when she was first elected as a Federal Legislator for Baja California. In 2019 she became the Mayor of Mexicali, the State Capital of Baja California. Two years later, she was selected by Mexico’s ruling party, Moreno, to run as its candidate for the office of Governor of the State. She became the youngest Governor in the history of the state and the first women to be elected as the Governor of Baja California in a landslide victory.
