THE FREEZE FACTOR

Over the decades of SCORE races, the Baja desert has claimed many engine and drivetrain parts. To prevent this, race teams, engine and transmission builders, and parts manufacturers have looked for ways to strengthen critical parts to withstand the punishment of desert racing. In some cases, however, such as with internal engine or transmission components, they can’t be beefed up with gussets or thicker materials.
