Biography

As a key member of the championship-winning team in the 2017 50th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000, Mitch Guthrie Jr. has established himself as a formidable force in professional desert racing. The 21-year-old from Glendora helped pilot the #2919 factory-sponsored Polaris RZR XP4 Turbo to victory in the Pro UTV FI class, completing the grueling 1,000-mile course in 27:43:45 and finishing more than an hour ahead of the competition.

Guthrie's contribution to the team's dominant performance showcased his ability to handle the most challenging sections of Baja's unforgiving terrain, including the infamous bone-jarring whoops at mile marker 750 where suspension systems are tested to their limits. Racing alongside veterans Brandon Schueler, Miles Martin, Pat Stone, Matt Park, and Jason Spiess, Guthrie demonstrated the skill and endurance required to excel in SCORE's premier UTV competition.

The young racer's success in the world's most prestigious desert race highlights his potential for continued excellence in off-road racing. His experience conquering Baja's legendary course positions him as a rising star in the competitive world of SCORE International desert racing.
