The Upward Culture | May 2022 Issue

The Pro UTV N/A class had 2021 Champion Kaden Wells seemingly ready for another victory. But the brutal San Felipe course had other plans. Wells started first and took an early lead, but their vehicle had problems that allowed second-place starter Joe Bolton to pass and ultimately take the win. The father and son team of Joe and Austin Bolton in the No. 1957 Polaris RZR XP1000 also had some issues, but they managed to keep their position to finish first. Read More

SCORE PRO UTV NA CHAMPION | January 2022 Issue

The 2021 SCORE Season ended with Kaden Wells bringing home the SCORE Pro UTV Naturally Aspirated Championship, but not after overcoming many obstacles along the way. Beginning with the SCORE San Felipe 250, Wells ran his two-seat Polaris RZR with his uncle, Arnie Wells. Read More

Pushed To The Limit | December 2021 Issue

More than 60 Pro UTV teams attempted to take on the 54th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. Some were there to challenge the peninsula, others had a class championship on the line, but all wanted to win the race badly. Within a large field of competitors and manufacturers, the 1226.35-mile course became more difficult to finish, let alone win. Read More

The Longest 400-Miles | October 2021 Issue

2021 Baja 500 PRO UTV N/A | July 2021 Issue

After Kristen Matlock’s performance in the SCORE San Felipe 250 winning her class and gunning for the UTV Overall win, she was one of the contenders for the win in the Pro UTV N/A class. But 150 miles into the race, Matlock had pulled off the course allowing her competitors to move ahead of her. Read More

PUMPED-UP TO WIN | July 2021 Issue

Kaden Wells and many other competitors in the BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4Wheel Parts would experience more than the usual ups and downs of racing in Baja California. Most are familiar with the rough and rugged terrain that can chew up tires and spit them out. This time there would be more than the usual number of car-swallowing silt beds. Just for fun, this race also threw in some steep-walled canyons that became time-eating log jams of stuck or idling race cars looking for a way out. Read More

A MATLOCK COME-FROM-BEHIND WIN | May 2021 Issue

In typical fashion, Kristen Matlock in her 1954 Factory Polaris UTV, likes to start at the back of the pack and move her way up to the winner’s podium. After starting nearly in last place, Matlock quickly began running her race, putting a good lead on the rest of the Pro UTV N/A class. “The race was a lot rougher than I anticipated after pre-running all week,” she said. “We thought it was going to be a fast, smooth, easy-going run, but after those SCORE Trophy trucks got out there and tore it up a bit, it gave us a little bit of a challenge. Can-Am Rules Pro Utv Fi | October 2020 Issue

A total of 36 UTV teams descended into San Felipe to compete at the 52nd BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. The largest concentration of teams and racers was within the Pro UTV FI, class, and as such, the competition was as tough as the course itself. 2019 SCORE Baja 500 class winner Craig Scanlon, 2019 SCORE Baja 1000 class winner Justin Lambert, 2019 SCORE Baja 400 class winner Wes Miller, and 2019 SCORE Pro UTV FI Class Champion Wayne Matlock were some of the racers wanting to add this 2020 race to their list of accomplishments, but winning it would not be as easy as those other times.
