Congratulations to Kaden Wells for winning the UTV Naturally Aspirated category at the 2019 SCORE Lucerna Baja 400!
Kaden Wells’ first season racing a Can-Am in SCORE events couldn’t have gone much better for him, as he drove every mile of every race. The SCORE San Felipe 250 saw him have to deal with some axle problems, and he says, “There were quite a few cars that had issues, but it seemed like whoever got their car fixed first was going to be the one to win it.” And, indeed Wells got his car going again in about 15 minutes, and other than stopping for fuel, he had a smooth cruise to finish first with nearly a 40-minute lead. SCORE win came down to quick thinking and perseverance during the 55th
BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. To get to that
point, however, he and the Risq Racing Team also had to do everything right
all season long. With third-place finishes at every race this season, Wells remained
unfazed and focused, knowing he could win the race if he just held it together

For SCORE’s Pro UTV racers, the course before Hurricane Kay hit the area was much different than it was on race day. While the rain had stopped about a week before the start of the 3rd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing Fuels, sections had been washed out or became muddy. Moto and Quad classes simply went around certain muddy areas, and the SCORE Trophy Trucks and Buggies simply had enough power and tire to blast right through them. So by the time the Pro UTV classes got onto the course, there were deep pits of mud, slush, and rocks dug up by the previous classes. Read More
The 3rd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing Fuels proved to be a troublefree drive for Kaden Wells, with not even a flat tire to slow him down. This was Wells’ third SCORE Baja 400 Pro UTV N/A class victory in a row, and he ended up fourth overall in the UTV classes. His Polaris had no mechanical issues during the race, and as he says, “It was just gas and go for us,” referring to his one fuel stop. The only slight delay he and his co-driver, Emma Cornwell, had was pushing a Class 10 car up a hill near Mike’s Sky Ranch, but otherwise, they never had to get out of the car. Read More
