Veteran desert racer Joe Bolton and his team fought hard for the 2023 SCORE World Desert Racing Championship. It did not come to them easily, but the team’s preparation and consistency paid off. Among the many things Bolton and his crew had going for them heading into the 2023 SCORE desert racing season, was a record of high-position finishes. In recent Pro UTV NA class races, Bolton has recorded 13 finishes in the top five, nine in third place, five in second place, and two first-in-class wins. Read More
For SCORE’s Pro UTV racers, the course before Hurricane Kay hit the area was much different than it was on race day. While the rain had stopped about a week before the start of the 3rd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing Fuels, sections had been washed out or became muddy. Moto and Quad classes simply went around certain muddy areas, and the SCORE Trophy Trucks and Buggies simply had enough power and tire to blast right through them. So by the time the Pro UTV classes got onto the course, there were deep pits of mud, slush, and rocks dug up by the previous classes. Read More
Zach Sizelove in his No. 1925 Honda Talon got the win in SCORE’s Pro UTV N/A class. He drove one of Jeff Proctor’s Factory Honda vehicles and the team was glad they did. “The day went well. We had no issues at all with the car or anything else, we just lost some time on a bottleneck on the Summit,” said Sizelove. Read More
The Pro UTV N/A class had 2021 Champion Kaden Wells seemingly ready for another victory. But the brutal San Felipe course had other plans. Wells started first and took an early lead, but their vehicle had problems that allowed second-place starter Joe Bolton to pass and ultimately take the win. The father and son team of Joe and Austin Bolton in the No. 1957 Polaris RZR XP1000 also had some issues, but they managed to keep their position to finish first. Read More
After taking first place in the very competitive Pro UTV NA class at the 2022 King Shocks 35th SCORE San Felipe 250, Joe Bolton told us, "We didn't have a perfect car, but it was good enough to win. It was especially satisfying because this year my son Austin drove the second half of the race and stood on the podium with me." Read More
More than 60 Pro UTV teams attempted to take on the 54th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. Some were there to challenge the peninsula, others had a class championship on the line, but all wanted to win the race badly. Within a large field of competitors and manufacturers, the 1226.35-mile course became more difficult to finish, let alone win. Read More
