Some of the toughest and most competitive races during the 55th BFGoodrich
Tires SCORE Baja 1000 were in the buggy classes. In Class 1 seven
competitors who are equally matched not only had to out-race each other,
but also had to contend with a brutal course that took out nearly half of the
competitors. In Class 10, however, the competition was so tough, the race leaders
changed hands more often than in any other class, and ultimately came down to
the wire as to who would cross the finish line first. Read More
Despite having to replace a broken lower control arm, Kyle Quinn’s SCORE Baja
1000 turned out to be a pretty smooth race for his team as he clinched the SCORE
Class 1 win at the 55TH BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel
Parts. It was Wilson Racing Team’s fourth win in the SCORE Baja 1000, and second
win in a row. It was also Quinn’s second win personally after a Class 10 win in 2013
with teammate Brad Wilson. Quinn’s decade-and-a-half of experience competing
in both Class 1 and Class 10 paid off nicely. He credited the team’s extensive prerunning
for their ability to find alternate lines around most of the hazardous rocks
on the course, allowing them to maintain speed and avoid major vehicle damage
problems. Read More
The rough, tight, and technical course of the 3rd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing fuels was especially hard on the Class 1 buggies. Six of the best teams competed and all had to drive slower than their usual pace to complete the course, but not without additional vehicle problems along the way. Since the Class 1 competitors decided among themselves not to participate in qualifying, they agreed the starting order for their class would be in the order in which they entered the race. This put 2021 Class Champion Cody Parkhouse in the No. 100 Jimco buggy off the starting line first, followed by the No. 121 Jefferies Buggy of Damen Jefferies, and the No 138. Jimco Buggy of Kyle Quinn. Brad Wilson in the No. 153 Jimco Buggy would start fourth, followed by Brendan Gaughan in the No. 162 HMS Buggy and Cody Reid in the No. 168 Alumi Craft Buggy. Read More

The top four Class 1 teams entering the BFGoodrich Tires 54th SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts may have at first predicted this race would be an all-out sprint to the finish. But after pre-running the course, they realized speed would have to take the back seat due to several very technical sections. Read More
The Class 1 battle at the 35th King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250 seemed like it was going to be a battle against some of the best buggy racers and teams in the sport. As the day began, Conner McMullen in the No. 140 buggy started first after the best qualifying run, followed by Brendan Gaughan in the No. 162 car, and Jeff Blanchard in the No. 110 buggy. 2021 Class Champions Brian and Cody Parkhouse started third and were in a good position to win the race once again. Shelby and Cody Reid started fourth, so with the two Wilson teams heading off the starting line fifth and sixth, it seemed like the odds were against them to take the class win. Read More
