Moto teams came out in full force to take on the 54th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. In all, teams had several riders to finish the entire 1226.35 miles of course, which started before dawn on November 18th, with some riders taking more than 48 hours to finish. Read More
When the Pro Moto and Quad classes left the starting line at 6:00 am race-day, the only thing on the mind of riders was to get through the course as fast and as safe as possible, but without making any mistakes along the way. Helping that effort at this race, SCORE had a helicopter to clear the course and provide aid if necessary, thanks to the efforts of Andy Kirker, Colton Udall, and other moto race teams who continue to push for the increased safety of riders. As the motorcycle riders lined up early in the morning on race day for the BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts, the course was still pretty much what they remembered from pre-running it. The racers set out during the cool Baja morning with some of the Pro Moto Unlimited riders returning in about 11-hours. Some new motorcycle teams emerged for the start of the 2021 SCORE season that mixed in with some of the veteran teams in the age classes to put on a great race. Among the Pro Moto Unlimited riders, Derek Aussuerbauer on the 5x bike had learned from his riding during the 2020 season and was at this year’s race to compete. In the class, Shane Redline, father of 16-year old SCORE Trophy Truck racer Jax Redline, showed up with his own 22x team. Competing against the two of them was Ana Rivas from Mexicali, Mexico, who organized the 21x team and was ready to take on San Felipe in the fastest pro moto class. Other teams included the 17x of Brian Wipperman and the 9x team of Ryan Jay Stephens, giving the class a total of five teams competing. Read More
