The Struggle For Survival | October 2021 Issue

It was a tight race all the way to the finish between Class 1 racers Cody Parkhouse and Brendan Gaughan. Parkhouse in the No. 100 car, qualified first, giving the team the advantage to stay ahead of the competition for the win. While Mario Fuentes in the No. 179 car qualified second, they had vehicle issues that ended their race. For Shelby Reid and her son Cody, It’s been way too long since they’ve earned a victory in SCORE’s Class 1Unlimited Open Wheel Buggy. At the 34th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE San Felipe 250 Presented by Ford, there were several firsts for the Reid team. It was the first time the mother and son had shared driving duties in one vehicle. Cody had previously been competing and winning, in Class 10. It was also the first time the team put their new Alumacraft buggy in competition. “With a new vehicle, the goal is always to see how it does and to get it to finish,” said Cody Reid. “We started in sixth place and we didn’t want to put any unnecessary stress on the vehicle, so we decided not to try and qualify for a better position.” Read More

Warren Comes Out On Top in Class 10 | December 2019 Issue

The battle of the buggies for Class 10 supremacy had been between Cody Reid, Chase Warren and Hiram Duran throughout the 2019 SCORE Season. But the Baja mud wasn’t good to these vehicles, many of them reporting having brakes overheating from being coated with mud. Others had electrical problems from the wet conditions and only half of the field would finish the race. Read More
