Justin Davis and Kaden Wells Lead Their Classes with 251 Points After Opening Rounds of the Season

    ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico— The 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship currently features a tie for the Overall lead between Justin Davis and Kaden Wells, both sitting at 251 points after the first two rounds of the season. As the second half of the year approaches, both competitors remain firmly in the hunt for the championship title across the deserts, mountains, and coastal landscapes of northern Baja California.

       “Celebrating 52 Years of SCORE Desert Excellence”, the championship continues to showcase the world’s top desert racers, the warmth of the Mexican fans, and the unique magic of Mexico — a proud home of the SCORE World Desert Championship for the past ten years.

       Justin Davis, 32, Chino Hills, California, not only leads the Trophy Truck Spec class but also shares the Overall lead in SCORE. Driving the No. 285 TSCO-Chevy Green Army Motorsports, Davis placed second in the King Shocks 38th SCORE San Felipe 250 in April, followed by a commanding victory in June’s BFGoodrich Tires 57th SCORE Baja 500.

        Kaden Wells, 26, Hurricane, Utah, is the co-leader Overall and also tops the Pro UTV FI class standings with 251 points. Driving his No. 2935 Risq Racing Can-Am Maverick R, Wells secured a pair of podium finishes — a runner-up spot at the SCORE San Felipe 250 and a dominant win at the SCORE Baja 500, where he captured the checkered flag on Ensenada’s iconic Bulevar Costero in Baja California, Mexico.

HEGER SECURES TOP 3 OVERALL POSITION IN SCORE

         Brock Heger, 25, El Centro, California, currently holds third place overall in the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship with 247 points. He also leads the Pro UTV Open class as part of the Polaris Factory Racing team, following victories in both the SCORE San Felipe 250 and the SCORE Baja 500.

          Heger, who has won the last three SCORE events behind the wheel of his No. 1896 Polaris RZR Pro R, now sets his sights on completing a perfect season in 2025. Two major challenges remain: the 6th SCORE Baja 400 in September and the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000 in November.

BELTRAN, A TRUE AZTEC WARRIOR

         Francisco Beltran, 54, La Paz, Mexico, currently leads the Pro UTV Stock class standings with 240 points. He is also the highest-ranked Mexican racer in the overall standings of the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship, holding fourth place overall.

         Beltran claimed victory at the SCORE San Felipe 250 and secured second place in the SCORE Baja 500, driving his No. 3921 Can-Am Maverick R. Representing the entire state of Baja California Sur, Beltran continues to stand out in the world’s premier off-road racing organization.

         Another standout Mexican racer, Jorge Cano, 50, Culiacan, Mexico, currently ranks fifth overall in SCORE and sits second in the Pro UTV FI class with 237 points. Driving the No. 2910 Can-Am Maverick R Changos Locos/Papas and Beer, Cano has earned back-to-back third-place finishes in the first two rounds of the season.

STEELE RAISES HIS HAND IN THE DESERTS OF BAJA

          Former color commentator for sports events and ESPN’s X Games, Cameron Steele, 58, San Clemente, California, currently leads the SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD class with 235 points. Steele claimed the checkered flag in both the SCORE San Felipe 250 and the SCORE Baja 500, driving his No. 16T Ford F-150 Geiser Bros Desert Assasins.

          Throughout the year, Steele dedicates significant time to touring the magical terrains of the Baja California Peninsula. Additionally, he organizes fundraising efforts to support the education of students at Rancho Santa Marta in San Vicente, Baja California, Mexico, fostering the dreams of Mexican children and youth to become future professionals.

MENDEZ, A FRIEND TO CHILDREN IN MEXICO

           Antonio Mendez, 60, Atlixco, Mexico, is the owner of the Garage 18 race team, which visits various schools along SCORE International pre-runnings to engage with Mexican children and youth. Their goal is to raise awareness about the importance of being good citizens and responsible fans when attending off-road races in the Baja California Peninsula.

          Mendez currently holds seventh place overall in SCORE and is second in the Pro UTV Stock class, driving his No. 3959 Polaris RZR Pro R for Garage 18. Supported by Edmundo Fernandez, 59, and Alonso Gonzalez, 43, both from Ensenada, Mexico, the team finished fourth at the SCORE San Felipe 250 and won the SCORE Baja 500 in their most recent appearance in the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship.

AMPUDIA IN THE TOP 9 OVERALL

         Alan Ampudia, 34, Ensenada, Mexico, currently holds ninth place overall and leads the SCORE Trophy Truck with 228 points. Driving his No. 10 Ford Raptor Mason AWD Papas and Beer/Monster Energy, Ampudia secured victories at both the SCORE San Felipe 250 and the SCORE Baja 500.

        Within the top 29 overall in SCORE, there are eight drivers from the Pro UTV FI class, seven from the Trophy Truck Spec class, five representing the Pro UTV Stock class, three drivers each from the SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD and Pro UTV Open classes, two from the SCORE Trophy Truck and one from SCORE Trophy Truck Legend and Class 5.

     Ensenada, Baja California, México – El Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2025 de SCORE International cuenta con un empate por el Overall entre Justin Davis y Kaden Wells, ya que ambos suman 251 puntos tras las dos primeras fechas de esta temporada, esperando ya la segunda mitad del año para mantenerse en la lucha por esta hazaña dentro de los desiertos, montañas y playas en la zona norte de la península de Baja California.

      “Celebrando 52 años de Excelencia Desértica de SCORE” de la mano de los mejores guerreros del desierto en el mundo, así como la calidez de los fans mexicanos y la magia de México, país que ha sido del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto de SCORE en los últimos 10 sños.

      Justin Davis, de Chino Hills, California, no solamente es quien manda en la clase Trophy Truck Spec, también es uno de los dos líderes Overall en SCORE con 251 puntos, tras finalizar segundo con su TSCO Chevrolet Número 285 del equipo Green Army Motorsports en la edición 38 de la King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250 en Abril, y luego ganando en Junio la edición 57 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500.

      Kaden Wells de Hurricane, Utah, es el otro líder Overall, además de comandar las acciones en la clase Pro UTV FI con 251 puntos, al conseguir un par de podios a bordo de su Can-Am Maverick R Número 2935 del equipo Risq Racing.

      Wells se quedó con el subliderato en la SCORE San Felipe 250, y posteriormente atrapó la bandera a cuadros en la SCORE Baja 500, ocupando la posición más alta del podio en el Bulevar Costero de Ensenada, Baja California, México.

HEGER, TOP 3 OVERALL EN SCORE

       Heger que ha ganado las 3 últimas fechas de SCORE a bordo de su Polaris RZR Pro R Número 1896, intentará coronar una temporada perfecta en este 2025, con lo que le restan dos desafíos más, la edición 6 de la SCORE Baja 400 en Septiembre, y la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 en Noviembre.

BELTRÁN, UN GUERRERO AZTECA

       Francisco Beltrán, de La Paz, Baja California Sur, México, es quien encabeza el Campeonato anual en la clase Pro UTV Stock con 240 puntos, además de que es el corredor mexicano mejor ubicado en forma overall dentro del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2025 de SCORE International con el cuarto sitio.

       Beltrán logró la victoria en la SCORE San Felipe 250 y concluyó en la segunda posición dentro de la SCORE Baja 500, utilizando para ello su Can-Am Maverick R Número 3921, quien está representando a todo el estado de Baja California Sur en la organización de Off-Road más importante del mundo.

       Otro talento azteca, Jorge Cano, de Culiacán, Sinaloa, México, es quinto Overall en SCORE, y sublíder en la clase Pro UTV FI con 237 puntos, a bordo de su Can-Am Maverick R Número 2910 del equipo Changos Locos/Papas and Beer, quien finalizó tercero en las dos primeras fechas de la temporada.

ALZA LA MANO STEELE EN LOS DESIERTOS DE BAJA

        El antiguo comentarista de color en eventos deportivos y los X Games de ESPN, Cameron Steele, de San Clemente, California, es el líder dentro de los SCORE Trophy Trucks 2WD con 235 puntos, quien se apoderó de la bandera a cuadros en la SCORE San Felipe 250 y la SCORE Baja 500 al control de su Ford F-150 Geiser Número 16T del equipo Los Asesinos del Desierto.

        Steele dedica gran parte de su tiempo a lo largo del año, para realizar diferentes tours por los terrenos mágicos de la península de Baja California, y también realiza colectas de dinero para apoyar la educación de los estudiantes del Rancho Santa Marta de San Vicente, Baja California, México, impulsando los sueños de los niños y jóvenes mexicanos para ser futuros profesionistas.

MÉNDEZ, EL AMIGO DE LOS NIÑOS EN MÉXICO

        Antonio Méndez, de Atlixco, Puebla, México, es el dueño del equipo Garage 18 que en cada carrera de SCORE International acude durante sus recorridos de las rutas a diferentes escuelas para convivir con niños y jóvenes mexicanos, con el objetivo de crear conciencia en ellos sobre la importancia de ser buenos ciudadanos, y el ser aficionados responsables al presenciar una carrera fuera de camino en la península de Baja California.

         Méndez es séptimo Overall en SCORE y segundo en la clase Pro UTV Stock a bordo de su Polaris RZR Pro R Número 3959 del equipo Garage 18, quien cuenta con el apoyo de Edmundo Fernández y Alonso González, ambos de Ensenada, Baja California, México. Ellos finalizaron en la cuarta posición dentro de la SCORE San Felipe 250 y ganaron la SCORE Baja 500 en su más reciente participación en el Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2025 de SCORE International.
