ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico—International motorcycle rally champion Toby Price, multi-discipline Hall of Famer Robby Gordon, Dakar Rally Champion Brock Heger, Rock Crawling and short-course Hall of Famer Brad Lovell, Sports Car racing champ Romain Dumas, Rock Crawling champion Loren Healy, and Rat Sult, ‘The Voice of SCORE’ and X-Games gold medalist, are all among the large group of crossover/celebrity racers who are leaving their ‘comfort zones’ to challenge Mexico’s Baja California peninsula next week as racers from around the world are in Baja California, Mexico for the season-ending BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000, the season finale of the four-race 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship.

LA GRAN CARRERA

The Granddaddy of All Desert Races, the SCORE Baja 1000 is at the pinnacle of motorsports as the most iconic, oldest, prestigious, toughest, and longest, continuously held desert race in the world.

This year, starting and finishing in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, race-week festivities and the race itself will be held Nov. 10-16.

This year’s race is a loop race of 854.00 miles around the northern part Baja California’s majestically masterful, poignantly picturesque, peninsula.

THE FIELD

With over 250 entries anticipated at the start line, as of today 226 total entries have been received to date for the Granddaddy of All Desert Races, with racers representing 34 U.S. States, U.S. Territory Puerto Rico, and 20 countries. The countries with at least one racer so far are United States, host country Mexico, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Columbia, Ecuador, England, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Norway, Thailand, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, South Africa, and Switzerland.

58th SCORE BAJA 1000

The world’s best desert racers will be in action at this year’s BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000. There will be live streaming from qualifying, two days of pre-race contingency, and start-to-finish live coverage on the SCORE website and social media channels.

Race week activities will be held Nov. 10-16.

This year’s SCORE Baja 1000 will be a loop race of an exhilaratingly exhausting 854.00 miles starting for the 50th time in Ensenada, Baja California and finishing for the 31st time in Ensenada, Baja California.

Ensenada, “The Off-Road Racing Capital of the World” is a coastal city on the Bahia de Todos Santos area of the Pacific Ocean, 80 miles south of the U.S. border at San Diego.

This race is annually the finale of the SCORE World Desert Championship, which has been held exclusively for the past 10 years in Baja California.

2025 CROSSOVER/CELEBS

The legendary SCORE Baja 1000 has always attracted crossover/celebrity races to leave the pavement and hit the desert and this year’s BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000 is clearly no exception to the historical rule. Over 25 of the multi-discipline stars are lining up for this year’s bodacious run around the northern part of the majestic Baja California peninsula.

Here are some expanded notes on eight of this year’s special racers…

DOWN UNDER

Coming to Baja from Australia, Toby Price, 38, arguably is the most-accomplished motorcycle racer of all-time from the Land Down Under.

Price, a two-time Dakar Rally overall motorcycle champion finished second overall and in SCORE Trophy Truck in the 2019 SCORE Baja 1000 as the second driver with fellow-Dakar champion four-wheel racer Nasser Al Attiyah of Qatar.

In this year’s race he is the driver of record and his additional driver will once again be team owner Paul Weel, 45, also of Australia.

The team will drive the AWD No. 46 Chevy Silverado, built by Mason Motorsports.

So far in the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship, the pair finished fourth in class at the SCORE San Felipe 250, and second place in both the SCORE Baja 500 and the SCORE Baja 400. They enter the race second in the 2025 SCORE Trophy Truck season point standings.

BIG BAD ROBBY

Robby Gordon, a 2019 inductee into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame, former Indy Car, NASCAR, Trans-Am, IMSA, IROC, Dakar Rally, Stadium Off-Road Racing and SCORE champion racer, will be driving the No. 5 RPM Racing SPEED Chevy V16 SCORE Trophy Truck in this year’s SCORE Baja 1000.

Gordon, the son of the late ORMHOF Inductee ‘Baja Bob’ Gordon, started out competing in off-road racing. He won five consecutive SCORE off-road class championships from 1986 to 1990, a sixth championship in 1996, and a seventh championship in 2009.

Gordon also won two championships in the old Mickey Thompson Stadium Series, three SCORE Baja 500 races in 1989, 1990, and 2005, and three SCORE Baja 1000 races in 1987, 1989, and 2006. Gordon also participated (and won) the last SCORE International off road race at the now closed Riverside International Raceway in 1988.

Gordon had continued off-road racing throughout his career in Champ Car and NASCAR. In 2005 Gordon took part in the famous sixteen-day Dakar Rally, driving for the Red Bull sponsored Volkswagen team. He became the first American to win a stage in the car division. He won two stages in total and a twelfth-place division finish.

In 2006, Gordon and co-driver Andy McMillin won the marque SCORE Trophy Truck class in the 2006 SCORE Baja 1000, finishing second overall in the race.

BROCK THE ROCK

Brock Heger, 25, El Centro, Calif., is an accomplished and versatile off-road racer in multiple disciplines.

Heger has won the Pro UTV Open class championship in both the 2023 and 2024 SCORE World Desert Championship seasons, including his first class victory in last year’s SCORE Baja 1000 where he finished seventh overall, the highest a UTV has finished since the vehicle was introduced in SCORE in 2007.

He return to this year’s race having won his class in all three SCORE races in 2025 as well as winning his SSV category in this year’s Dakar Rally.

For the 2025 SCORE Baja 1000, Heger will again be driving in the Pro UTV Open class in the No. 1896 Polaris RZR Pro Factory vehicle.

He also raced in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing short-course series, winning the championship four times in three different classes. He has also competed in Championship Off-Road short course series where he won the Pro Stock SxS championship in 2021 and 2022.

HALL OF FAMER LOVELL

Well-known brand ambassador, champion racer, Ford engineering consultant, and a 2022 Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee Brad Lovell, 49, Colorado Springs, Colo., and his Lovell Racing team is returning to the SCORE Baja 1000 with a very special new quest as driver of record for a very special Ford Performance Racing Team No. 8135 Ford F-150 Raptor in the Stock Full class.

Lovell is one of the most versatile and successful off-road racers in the world, claiming titles in multiple disciplines.

Lovell has nine class wins in the SCORE Baja 1000, two SCORE Baja 500 class wins, multiple King of the Hammers class wins, nearly 60 career wins in rock crawling, desert, and short course racing. He was honored in 2012 as the Dirt Sports Magazine Driver of the year.

ONE & ONLY DUMAS

International motorsports super star, France’s Romain Dumas, 47, of Ales, will add competing in the SCORE Baja 1000 to his extensive motorsports resume. Currently living in Geneva, Switzerland, the popular Frenchman has raced successfully raced in multiple disciplines of sports car racing along with being a four-time overall champion (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018) and current course record-holder in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado.

Four-time King of the Mountain and overall course record holder, Dumas repeated his dominance this year, securing first in the special division driving the Ford Performance-backed, electric-powered, 2025 Ford Super Mustang Mach‑E.

In this year’s SCORE Baja 1000, Dumas will be driving the No. 773 Ford Ranger Raptor in the Stock Mid-Size Class.

Among his lengthy Sports Car racing resume, Dumas has two overall wins in the 24 hours of Le Mans (2010, 2016), four overalls in the 24 hours of Nuremburg (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and two-time winner of the 24 hours of Spa (2003, 2010). He has also won the 12 hours of Sebring (2008), and is a two-time champion of the American Le Mans Series (2007, 2008).

BIG GUN HEALY

Another of the multi-talented Ford Performance Racing Team, Loren Healy, returns to seek a three-peat class victory in the SCORE Baja 1000.

Healy, 44, Farmington, N.M., is the reigning Ultra4 Racing National Champion and returns to Baja after leading his team to victory the past two years in the Stock Full class in a Ford F-150 Raptor R.

For this year, Healy is driver of record in the Stock Mid-Size class where he will be a co-driver this year in the No. 766 Ford Bronco Raptor.

Driver of record this year for the Ford Performance Racing Team entry is Vaughn Gittin Jr, 45, Concord, N.C. world champion drifter and off-road racing champion.

Healy is the all-time winningest driver in Ultra4 USA series’ history, with seven Ultra4 season championships in his name.

UFC COWBOY

Known professionally by his nickname ‘Cowboy’, Donald Cerrone, 42, Edgewood, N.M. is an American former professional mixed martial artist, former kickboxer, and actor best known for competing in the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and the Lightweight division of the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).

He is known and respected by fans for his willingness to fight any time, having completed thirty eight fights in his eleven-year UFC tenure. Cerrone challenged for the WEC Lightweight Championship in 2009 and 2010, and the UFC Lightweight Championship in 2015.

Cerrone was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in July 2023.

For this year’s SCORE Baja 1000, Cerrone is the driver of record in the No. 2949 Can-Am Maverick in the Pro UTV Forced Induction class.

In September’s SCORE Baja 400 he finished just off the podium in Pro UTV FI with a fourth-place finish.

One of his co-drivers will be Janey Lee, the Las Vegas-based Monster Energy Girl, Can-Am Ambassador, and off-road racer.

Lee got her first taste of off-roading in one of the most iconic viral off-road videos, riding shotgun with SCORE Champion racer BJ Baldwin in RECOIL.

RATATOUILLE

Putting down the microphone for a several hours (not really), Rat ‘Ratatouille’ Sult, the voice of SCORE for the past 10 years, will be pulling seriously extra duty again in this year’s SCORE Baja 1000 as an additional driver for Mark Winkelman in the No. 25L in the SCORE TT Legend class.

Team owner/driver of record Mark Winkelman, Cypress, Texas, will also be part of the five-driver team competing in the special class for SCORE Trophy Truck drivers 50 years old and over.

Sult, 54, of Temecula, Calif., will be on the mic during two days of pre-race contingency, as well as several hours on the finish line ramp interviewing finishers and hosting the post-race awards celebration on Sunday (Nov. 16). The ‘never-at-a-loss-for-words’ Sult will also have live commentary and live race action from inside his race truck during his part of the race.

While the ‘Rat Man’ has raced on some motorcycle teams earlier in his career at SCORE Baja races, his athletic career focused on skateboarding and street luge, where he was an X-Games gold medalist while competing in the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Australia.

GREEN FLAG

It is an elapsed-time race with staggered starts with the green flag dropping on Friday (Nov. 14). Motorcycles and Quads will start at 12 a.m. PT, Cars, Trucks, and UTVs will start at 9 a.m. PT.

While the fastest vehicles in the 854.00-mile race are expected to finish in about 15 hours, the elapsed-time race will have a 36-hour time limit to become an official finisher.

MORE CROSSOVER CELEBS

Among the other special racers with multiple racing backgrounds entered in this year’s SCORE Baja 1000 are Larry Roeseler, Cameron Steele, Bryce Menzies, Brendan Gaughan, Ricky Johnson, Rhys Millen, Ryan Millen, and Faelly Lopez. (see expanded list and info below).

METHOD RACE WHEELS QUALIFYING

Tuesday, Nov. 11 starting at 8 am PT, the Method Race Wheels Qualifying for the SCORE Baja 1000 will take place for the SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, SCORE TT Legend, Class 1, and Trophy Truck Spec classes at a private venue.

Spectators are not allowed at the Method Race Wheels qualifying session, but SCORE Live will air the activity on the SCORE website and SCORE social media channels.

Method Race Wheels Qualifying will determine the mixed starting order in these five classes for The Granddaddy of All Desert Races.

BAJA RUTA MUY ESPECIAL!

The race features a course, designed, fully plotted, and marked by SCORE President/Race Director Jose A. Grijalva, and Co-Race Director Rodolfo Fernandez, of 854.00 miles of rugged Baja California terrain.

The challenging, rugged race course is another memorable example of all that Mexico’s Baja California has to offer, including high-speed dirt trails, sandy, rocky, and silty natural terrain, majestic Baja washes and canyons, stretches along the seashore with elevations from sea level to over 4,000 feet. The course is another crown jewel reflecting the stark beauty of Baja California.

All participants in the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000 will aim to triumph over a route full of mysticism and magic, measuring 854.00 miles race course for the professional classes of motorcycles Trucks, cars, and UTVs, while All Sportsman classes, as well as Classes 7SX and 11, will have to conquer a route of 720.95 miles, with a time limit of 36 hours for all classes in the elapsed-time race.

From the start of the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000 on Boulevard Costero in Ensenada, the course quickly dips down for the first time since 2018, into the popular Ensenada Arroyo for two miles with nearly 50,000 spectators anticipated for the start and the finish in this area alone.

The start/finish line compound is once again adjacent to the iconic and historic Riviera de Ensenada Cultural Center in the heart of Ensenada.

This year’s race course runs in a counter-clockwise direction and it features three full-stop checkpoints: Checkpoint 1 at race mile 212 in San Quintin, Checkpoint 2 at race mile 365 in San Ignacito, south of Catavina, and Checkpoint 3 at race mile 717 in San Matias ejido.

A HAPPENING…

Two days of the colorful pre-race Manufacturer’s Midway, Contingency and Tech inspection will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 12) and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 13) on Boulevard Costero adjacent to the iconic Riviera de Ensenada Cultural Center.

SCORE LIVE

From the new state-of-the art SCORE Studio in El Cajon, Calif., SCORE LIVE with host Brandon Johnson, will provide exclusive race coverage, along with vehicle tracking, live drone, and in-car camera footage from various locations around the race course.

Legendary SCORE racers will also be working with Johnson during the race-days studio show, including Wes Miller, Heidi Steele, along with Ken Stout, John Griffin, and Jason Heard.

In-studio hosts for the Method Race Wheels Qualifying will be Austin Farner and Nicholas Isenhouer.

Popular Rat Sult, in his 10th season with SCORE, will be the host announcer on the SCORE ramp during contingency and the race start and finish. Assisting Sult will be Kevin Johnson.

RIVIERA DE ENSENADA…

In the heart of Ensenada on Boulevard Costero, the historic Riviera de Ensenada Cultural Center, will host racer registration and media registration in Salon Rojo on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Nov. 10-13).

On Monday (Nov. 10), racer registration will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. PT for teams that are qualifying. On Tuesday (Nov. 11) it will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT, on Wednesday (Nov. 12) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, and on Thursday (Nov. 13) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT.

SCORE Media Registration will be held in Salon Rojo on Monday (Nov. 10) from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. PT and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. PT on Tuesday (Nov. 11), Wednesday (Nov. 12) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, and Thursday (Nov. 13) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.

PRO MOTO BAJA RACINGBONUS

Through the coordination and efforts of SCORE Motorcycle liaison, Andy Kirker, a former SCORE champion motorcycle racer, four companies have combined to put up a special US$14,500 bonus purse exclusively for the Pro Moto and Quad classes.

The five companies posting this unprecedented purse for this year’s BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000 are: Taco Moto Company from Las Vegas, Baja Bound Mexican Auto Insurance, Mex Legal.com App, Inter-Sky of Lake Forest, Calif., and AHM Factory Services of Yorba Linda, Calif. They are all part of the Pro Moto Baja Racing Facebook group.

Each company is providing cash for different classes.

Taco Moto is providing US$5,000 for the top five finishers in the Pro Moto Ironman (solo riders class): First place-US$1,500; Second place-US$1,110; Third place-US$780; Fourth place-US$610; and fifth place US$500.

Mex Legal is providing US$1,000 for first place in the Pro Moto Limited class. Inter-Sky is providing a US$1,000 ‘Last Man Standing’ award for the final finisher in Pro Moto Iron. ‘MR. BAJA’—GRAND MARSHAL

Honorably known as ‘Mr. Baja’ in motorsports circles, legendary desert racer Larry Roeseler is the Grand Marshal for this week’s BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000.

Busy he will be as he is will also be one of three drivers in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legend class during the final round of the four-race 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship.

LR, 68, of Boulevard, Calif., who is still known to do some of his pre-running on a motorcycle, is entered in this year’s SCORE Baja 1000 in the No. 61L in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legend class, for SCORE Trophy Truck drivers over 50 years old.

Roeseler, who spent over two decades of his 53-year SCORE Baja racing career competing and winning on a motorcycle, has 43 career class wins in SCORE Baja racing, including 27 overall victories.

In SCORE Baja racing, he has 18 class wins including a SCORE-record 14 overall wins in the SCORE Baja 1000, where he is the only racer to win overalls in this legendary race on a motorcycle, in a car, and in a truck.

Roeseler was inducted into the American Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2012.

Se anticipa la participación de más de 250 equipos en la línea de arranque. Hasta la fecha, se han recibido 230 inscripciones para la legendaria carrera, con pilotos provenientes de 34 estados de Estados Unidos, el territorio estadounidense de Puerto Rico y 20 países.

Los países representados hasta ahora son: Estados Unidos, México (país anfitrión), Argentina, Australia, Canadá, Colombia, Ecuador, Inglaterra, Tailandia, Finlandia, Francia, India, Indonesia, Japón, Noruega, Nueva Zelanda, Perú, Polonia, Sudáfrica y Suiza.

LA EDICIÓN 58 DE LA SCORE BAJA 1000

Los mejores pilotos del mundo en el Off-Road estarán en acción dentro de la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000. Habrá transmisiones en vivo de la calificación Method Race Wheels, dos días de revisión mecánica, y cobertura completa en vivo de inicio a fin a través de la página de internet y las redes sociales oficiales de SCORE International.

Las actividades de la semana de competencia se desarrollarán del 10 al 16 de Noviembre.

La edición de este año será una carrera de 854 millas, iniciando en Ensenada de nuevo, ya son 50 ediciones que sucede esto, y será la meta de la prestigiada competencia también, hazaña que será la ocasión 31 que se lleva a cabo en “La Cenicienta del Pacífico”.

Reconocida como la “Capital Mundial de las Carreras de Off-Road”, Ensenada es una ciudad costera ubicada en la Bahía de Todos Santos, sobre el Océano Pacífico, a solo 80 millas al sur de la frontera con San Diego, California.

Esta competencia marca, como cada año, la gran final del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto de SCORE International, que durante los últimos 10 años se ha celebrado exclusivamente en Baja California.

CELEBRIDADES EN ESTE 2025

La legendaria SCORE Baja 1000 siempre ha atraído a pilotos provenientes de distintas disciplinas y celebridades que dejan el asfalto para enfrentarse al desierto, y la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 de este año claramente no es la excepción.
Más de 25 estrellas de diferentes especialidades se alinearán en la salida para esta espectacular edición que recorrerá la parte norte de la majestuosa península de Baja California.

A continuación, algunos detalles destacados de ocho de estos pilotos especiales de este año…

DESDE “LA TIERRA DE LOS CANGUROS”

Viniendo desde Australia, Toby Price, de 38 años, es considerado uno de los motociclistas más exitosos de todos los tiempos del país oceánico.

Price, bicampeón del Rally Dakar en motocicleta, obtuvo el segundo lugar absoluto y en la categoría SCORE Trophy Trucks en la SCORE Baja 1000 de 2019, donde compitió como segundo piloto junto a su compañero de equipo y también campeón del Dakar, Nasser Al-Attiyah, de Catar.

En la edición de este año, Price será piloto titular, acompañado nuevamente por el propietario del equipo, Paul Weel, de 45 años, también australiano.

El equipo competirá con el Truck Número 46 Chevrolet Silverado, unidad de doble tracción creada por la empresa Mason Motorsports.

Hasta el momento, en el Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2025 de SCORE International, la dupla ha obtenido cuarto lugar en su categoría en la SCORE San Felipe 250, y segundo lugar, tanto, en la SCORE Baja 500, como en la SCORE Baja 400.
Llegan a la SCORE Baja 1000 ubicados en la segunda posición del campeonato de la categoría SCORE Trophy Trucks.

EL GRAN ROBBY

Robby Gordon, integrante del Salón de la Fama del Off-Road en 2019, y ex campeón de Indy Car, Serie Nascar, Trans-Am, IMSA, IROC, Rally Dakar, Stadium Off-Road Racing y SCORE International, será el piloto del SCORE Trophy Truck Número 5 Chevrolet V16 del equipo RPM Racing Speed en la edición de este año de la SCORE Baja 1000.

Hijo del fallecido integrante del Salón de la Fama del Off-Road, “Baja Bob” Gordon, Robby comenzó su carrera compitiendo en carreras fuera de camino. Ganó cinco campeonatos consecutivos en su categoría de 1986 a 1990 en Score International, un sexto campeonato en 1996 y un séptimo en 2009.

Gordon también obtuvo dos campeonatos en la antigua serie de estadio Mickey Thompson, ganó tres veces la SCORE Baja 500 en 1989, 1990 y 2005, y tres veces la SCORE Baja 1000 en 1987, 1989 y 2006. Además, participó y ganó la última carrera de SCORE International en la antigua pista de Riverside en 1988.

A lo largo de su carrera en Champ Car y Serie Nascar, Gordon continuó compitiendo en las carreras fuera de camino. En 2005, participó en el famoso Rally Dakar de 16 días, conduciendo para el equipo Volkswagen patrocinado por Red Bull, convirtiéndose en el primer estadounidense en ganar una etapa en la categoría de autos. Ganó dos etapas en total y finalizó en la posición 12 dentro de su categoría.

En 2006, Gordon y su copiloto Andy McMillin ganaron la SCORE Baja 1000 en los SCORE Trophy Trucks, terminando segundos en la clasificación absoluta de la carrera.

“LA ROCA” BROCK

Brock Heger, de 25 años, originario de El Centro, California, es un piloto versátil y exitoso en múltiples disciplinas de Off-Road.

Heger ha ganado el campeonato de la categoría Pro UTV Open en las temporadas 2023 y 2024 del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto de SCORE International, incluyendo su primera victoria en la categoría durante la SCORE Baja 1000 del año pasado, donde finalizó séptimo en la clasificación general, el mejor puesto logrado por un UTV desde que se introdujo este vehículo en SCORE durante 2007.

Regresa a la competencia de este año después de haber ganado su categoría en las tres carreras SCORE de este 2025, además de obtener la victoria en la categoría SSV del Rally Dakar de este año.

Para la SCORE Baja 1000 de este año, Heger volverá a competir en la categoría Pro UTV Open al volante del vehículo Número 1896 Polaris RZR Pro.

También ha participado en la serie Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing de circuito cerrado, donde ganó el campeonato cuatro veces en tres categorías diferentes. Además, compitió en la Championship Off-Road Short Course Series, donde se coronó campeón de Pro Stock SxS en 2021 y 2022.

LOVELL, UN SALÓN DE LA FAMA DEL VOLANTE

El conocido embajador de marcas, piloto campeón, consultor de ingeniería de Ford e integrante del Salón de la Fama del Off-Road en 2022, Brad Lovell, de 49 años, originario de Colorado Springs, Colorado, regresa a la SCORE Baja 1000 con una misión muy especial como piloto oficial del equipo Ford Performance Número 8135 Ford F-150 Raptor, compitiendo en la categoría Stock Full junto a su equipo Lovell Racing.

Lovell es considerado uno de los pilotos fuera de camino más versátiles y exitosos del mundo, habiendo obtenido títulos en múltiples disciplinas.

Entre sus logros destacan: nueve victorias de clase en la SCORE Baja 1000, dos victorias de clase en la SCORE Baja 500, múltiples victorias de clase en King of the Hammers, y cerca de 60 triunfos en competencias de rock crawling, carreras en desierto y short course. En 2012 fue reconocido como Piloto del Año por la revista Dirt Sports.

Para la edición de este año de la SCORE Baja 1000, Lovell está coordinando un grupo de cuatro equipos Ford Performance Racing, compitiendo en las categorías Stock Full y Stock Mid-Size.

EL ÚNICO E INIGUALABLE: DUMAS

La estrella internacional del automovilismo, Romain Dumas, de 47 años, originario de Alès, Francia, añadirá la SCORE Baja 1000 a su extenso currículum deportivo. Actualmente residente en Ginebra, Suiza, el popular piloto francés ha competido con éxito en múltiples disciplinas de automovilismo deportivo, además de ser cuatro veces campeón absoluto (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018) y actual poseedor del récord del rally Pikes Peak Hill Climb en Colorado.

Dumas, cuatro veces nombrado como “Rey de la Montaña” y poseedor del récord absoluto del prestigiado rally, repitió su dominio este año, asegurando el primer lugar en su división especial al volante del 2025 Ford Súper Mustang Mach E, eléctrico y respaldado por la marca automotriz Ford Performance.

En esta SCORE Baja 1000, Dumas competirá con el Número 773 Ford Ranger Raptor en la categoría Stock Mid-Size.

Entre sus múltiples logros en carreras de autos deportivos, Dumas ha obtenido, dos victorias absolutas en las 24 Horas de Le Mans (2010, 2016), cuatro éxitos absolutos en las 24 Horas de Nürburgring (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011), dos triunfos en las 24 Horas de Spa (2003, 2010), un triunfo en las 12 Horas de Sebring (2008) y fue campeón de la American Le Mans Series en dos ocasiones (2007, 2008)

EL CAMPEÓN HEALY

Otro de los talentosos corredores del equipo Ford Performance Racing, Loren Healy, regresa en busca de su tercer triunfo consecutivo de clase en la SCORE Baja 1000.

Healy, de 44 años, originario de Farmington, Nuevo México, es el actual Campeón Nacional de Ultra4 Racing y vuelve a Baja tras haber llevado a su equipo a la victoria los últimos dos años en la categoría Stock Full al volante de una Ford F-150 Raptor R.

Este año, Healy participará en la categoría Stock Mid-Size, y manejará el Número 766 Ford Bronco Raptor.

El piloto de récord de esta unidad del equipo Ford Performance Racing en este año será Vaughn Gittin Junior, de 45 años, originario de Concord, Carolina del Norte, campeón mundial de drifting y de carreras de Off-Road.

Healy es el piloto con más victorias en la historia de la serie Ultra4 USA, con siete campeonatos de temporada Ultra4 bajo su nombre.

EL “VAQUERO” DE LA UFC

Conocido profesionalmente por su apodo “Vaquero”, Donald Cerrone, de 42 años, originario de Edgewood, Nuevo México, es un exluchador profesional de artes marciales mixtas, exkickboxer y actor, reconocido por competir en las divisiones de peso Ligero y Welter de la Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), así como en la división de los pesos Ligero del World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).

Es conocido y respetado por los aficionados por su disposición a pelear en cualquier momento, habiendo completado 38 combates durante sus once años en la UFC. Cerrone disputó el campeonato WEC de peso Ligero en 2009 y 2010, y el campeonato UFC de peso Ligero en 2015.

Ingresó al Salón de la Fama de la UFC en Julio de 2023.

Para la SCORE Baja 1000 de este año, Cerrone será el piloto de puntos en el UTV Número 2949 Can-Am Maverick en la categoría Pro UTV Forced Induction.

En la SCORE Baja 400 de Septiembre, Cerrone terminó cerca del podio en Pro UTV FI, obteniendo un cuarto lugar.

Uno de sus segundos pilotos será Janey Lee, la chica Monster Energy de Las Vegas, Nevada, embajadora de Can-Am y piloto de Off-Road. Lee tuvo su primer contacto con este deporte en uno de los videos de Off-Road más icónicos y virales, Recoil, viajando de copiloto con el campeón de SCORE, BJ Baldwin.

EL AMIGO RAT

Colocando el micrófono a un lado por unas horas (no del todo), Rat “Ratatouille” Sult, la voz de SCORE International durante los últimos 10 años, volverá a asumir funciones extra en la SCORE Baja 1000 de este año como piloto adicional de Mark Winkelman en el vehículo Número 25L, dentro de la categoría SCORE Trophy Trucks Legend.

El propietario del equipo, Mark Winkelman, de Cypress, Texas, también formará parte del equipo de cinco pilotos que competirán en la clase especial para conductores de SCORE Trophy Trucks de 50 años o más.

Sult, de 54 años, originario de Temecula, California, estará al micrófono durante dos días de revisión mecánica a la carrera, así como varias horas en la rampa de meta entrevistando a los corredores y conduciendo la ceremonia de premiación posterior a la carrera en el Domingo 16 de Noviembre. El “Hombre Rata”, conocido por no quedarse nunca sin palabras, también ofrecerá comentarios en vivo y cobertura de la carrera desde su propio vehículo durante su participación como piloto.

Aunque Sult compitió en equipos de motocicletas en algunas ediciones anteriores de SCORE, su carrera atlética se centró en el skateboarding y el street luge, donde fue medallista de oro en los X-Games, compitiendo en Estados Unidos, Europa, África y Australia.

EL BANDERAZO DE SALIDA

Se trata de una carrera por tiempo en las diferentes categorías participantes, que comenzará con la bandera verde el Viernes 14 de Noviembre.

Las motocicletas de 2 y 4 llantas iniciarán a las 12 de la noche, tiempo del Pacífico, mientras que los carros arrancarán a las 9 de la mañana, tiempo del Pacífico.

Aunque se espera que los ganadores absolutos completen la odisea de 854 millas en aproximadamente 15 horas, la carrera tendrá un tiempo límite de 36 horas para que los competidores sean considerados finalistas de manera oficial.

Entre los otros pilotos especiales con múltiples trayectorias en diversas disciplinas, inscritos en la SCORE Baja 1000 de este 2025, se encuentran Larry Roeseler, Cameron Steele, Bryce Menzies, Brendan Gaughan, Ricky Johnson, Rhys Millen, Ryan Millen y Faelly López. CALIFICACIÓN METHOD RACE WHEELS

El Martes 11 de Noviembre a partir de las 8 de la mañana, tiempo del Pacífico, se llevará a cabo la Calificación Method Race Wheels para la SCORE Baja 1000 en una propiedad privada, que incluirá las categorías SCORE Trophy Trucks, SCORE Trophy Trucks 2WD, SCORE Trophy Trucks Legend, Clase 1 y Trophy Truck Spec.

No se permitirá la asistencia de espectadores en la sesión de Calificación Method Race Wheels, pero el prorama SCORE en Vivo transmitirá la actividad en vivo en la página de internet de SCORE y en sus redes sociales.

La Calificación Method Race Wheels determinará el orden de salida mixto en estas cinco categorías para el Gran Premio de todas las carreras fuera de camino.

LA MAGIA DE BAJA CALIFORNIA

La carrera cuenta con una ruta creada por el Presidente y Director de Carrera de SCORE International, José Abelardo Grijalva, y el Asistente de Carrera, Rodolfo Fernández, con un total de 854 millas de espectacular terreno en Baja California.

El desafiante recorrido es otro ejemplo memorable de todo lo que Baja California, México, tiene para ofrecer, incluyendo caminos de tierra a alta velocidad, terrenos naturales arenosos, rocosos y llenos de talcos, majestuosos arroyos y cañones, tramos a lo largo de la costa, con elevaciones que van desde el nivel del mar hasta más de 4 mil pies. La pista es otra joya que refleja la belleza imponente de Baja California.

Todos los participantes en la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 buscarán triunfar sobre una ruta llena de misticismo y magia, con un recorrido de 854 millas para las categorías profesionales de motocicletas, camiones, autos y UTV´s, mientras que todas las clases Sportsman, así como las Clases 7SX y 11, deberán conquistar una ruta de 720.95 millas, con un límite de tiempo de 36 horas para todas las categorías participantes en esta competencia.

Desde la salida de la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 en el Bulevar Costero de Ensenada, el recorrido desciende rápidamente por primera vez desde 2018 hacia el popular Arroyo de Ensenada durante dos millas, con la anticipación de casi 50 mil espectadores, solo en la zona de salida y meta.

El área de salida/meta se ubicará nuevamente junto al icónico e histórico Centro Cultural y Social Riviera de Ensenada, en el corazón de la ciudad.

La ruta de este año se desarrolla en dirección contraria a las manecillas del reloj y cuenta con tres puntos de control, Checkpoint 1: milla 212 en San Quintín, Checkpoint 2: milla 365 en San Ignacito, al sur de Cataviña, y el Checkpoint 3: milla 717 en el ejido San Matías.

UN EVENTO QUE NADIE SE PUEDE PERDER

Dos días de revision mecánica con miles de fans, junto con la inspección técnica, se llevarán a cabo el Miércoles 12 de Noviembre y el Jueves 13 de Noviembre, de las 8 de la mañana a las 5 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico, actividad que se llevará a cabo en el Bulevar Costero, junto al icónico Centro Cultural y Social Riviera de Ensenada.

SCORE EN VIVO

Desde el nuevo y moderno estudio de SCORE International en El Cajón, California, SCORE EN VIVO, con el anfitrión Brandon Johnson, ofrecerá cobertura exclusiva de la carrera, incluyendo rastreo digital de vehículos, imágenes en vivo con drones y cámaras a bordo desde diferentes puntos de la ruta.

Pilotos legendarios de SCORE International también colaborarán con Johnson en el estudio durante los días de carrera, incluyendo a Wes Miller, Heidi Steele, Ken Stout, John Griffin y Jason Heard.

Los presentadores en estudio durante la Calificación Method Race Wheels serán Austin Farner y Nicholas Isenhouer.

El popular Rat Sult, en su décima temporada con SCORE International, será el anfitrión principal en la rampa de SCORE durante la revisión mecánica, así como el inicio y cierre de la carrera, acompañado por Kevin Johnson.

EL RIVIERA DE ENSENADA
En el corazón de Ensenada, sobre el Bulevar Costero, el histórico Centro Cultural y Social Riviera de Ensenada será sede del registro de competidores y del registro de medios de comunicación en el Salón Roja los días Lunes, Martes, Miércoles y Jueves (10 al 13 de noviembre).

El Lunes 10 de Noviembre, el registro de competidores se llevará a cabo de 1 de la tarde a 7 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico, para los equipos que estarán participando en la Calificación Method Race Wheels. El Martes 11 de Noviembre, el registro se realizará de 9 de la mañana a las 6 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico; el Miércoles 12 de Noviembre, de 8 de la mañana a 5 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico; y el Jueves 13 de Noviembre, de 8 de la mañana a las 4 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico.

El registro de medios de comunicación se efectuará en el Salón Rojo el Lunes 10 de Noviembre de 1 de la tarde a 7 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico, el Martes 11 de Noviembre de 1 de la tarde a 5 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico, el Miércoles 12 de Noviembre y el Jueves 13 de Noviembre, de las 8 de la mañana a las 5 de la tarde, tiempo del Pacífico.

BFGoodrich Tires, llanta oficial de SCORE International durante 49 años, fue reconocida tras la temporada 2024 como la Compañía de Apoyo en Pits del Año de SCORE, hazaña que ha alcanzado en 34 ocasiones.

La victoria absoluta en la SCORE Baja 1000 del año pasado, lograda por Luke McMillin de San Diego, California, y Rob MacCachren de Las Vegas, Nevada, fue la victoria absoluta número 105 de BFGoodrich Tires en las carreras de SCORE en la península majestuosa de Baja California.

EL BONO BFGOODRICH TIRES
El principal patrocinador de SCORE International, BFGoodrich Tires, ha establecido un bono de contingencia de 20 mil dólares para el ganador general, así como un bono de contingencia de 6 mil 500 dólares, distribuido en seis categorías diferenres, como parte de la conmemoración del “La Madre de todas las carreras fuera de camino”.

UN BONO PARA LOS MOTOCICLISTAS

Gracias a la coordinación y esfuerzos de Andy Kirker, enlace especial de motocicletas y ex campeón de motociclismo de SCORE International, cuatro empresas se han unido para ofrecer un bono especial de 14 mil 500 dólares, exclusivamente para las clases profesionales de motos de 2 y 4 llantas.

Las cinco empresas que aportan este fondo sin precedentes para la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 son: Taco Moto Company de Las Vegas, Baja Bound Mexican Auto Insurance, Mex Legal.com App, Inter-Sky de Lake Forest, California, y AHM Factory Services de Yorba Linda, California. Todas forman parte del grupo Pro Moto Baja Racing en Facebook.

Cada empresa destinará efectivo a diferentes categorías: Taco Moto otorgará 5 mil dólares a los cinco primeros lugares de la clase Pro Moto Ironman, divididos de la siguiente manera, 1 mil 500 dólares al ganador, 1 mil 110 dólares al segundo lugar, 780 dólares al tercer sitio, 610 dólares al cuarto puesto y 500 dólares al ocupante de la quinta posición.

Mex Legal otorgará 1 mil dólares al primer lugar de la clase Pro Moto Limited.

Inter-Sky entregará un premio “Del último hombre en pie” de 1 mil dólares al último competidor en cruzar la meta de la categoría Pro Moto Ironman.

Baja Bound Insurance aportará 5 mil dólares en total, entregados en incrementos de 1 mil dólares a los ganadores de las clases Pro Moto 30, Pro Moto 40, Pro Moto 50, Pro Moto 60 y Pro Quad.

UNA LEYENDA DE ORO, “MR. BAJA”

Conocido por miles de personas en el mundo del automovilismo y motociclismo como “Mr. Baja”, el legendario piloto de carreras fuera de camino, Larry Roeseler será el Gran Mariscal de la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000.

Su agenda será intensa, ya que además de fungir como Gran Mariscal, Roeseler será uno de los tres pilotos que competirán en la clase SCORE Trophy Trucks Legend durante la última fecha del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2025 de SCORE International, que cuenta con cuatro fechas.

Roeseler, de 68 años, originario de Boulevard, California, y conocido por realizar parte de sus recorridos a las rutas de competencia en motocicleta, competirá este año en la SCORE Baja 1000 con el vehículo Número 61L en la clase SCORE Trophy Trucks Legend, que es exclusiva para corredores mayores de 50 años a bordo de un SCORE Trophy Truck.

A lo largo de más de cinco décadas de trayectoria en las carreras de SCORE International en Baja California, Roeseler ha pasado más de veinte años compitiendo y ganando en motocicleta, acumulando 43 victorias de clase, incluyendo 27 victorias absolutas. En la historia de la SCORE Baja 1000, posee 18 triunfos en diferentes categorías, así como un récord de 14 victorias absolutas, siendo el único corredor en ganar esta legendaria carrera sobre una motocicleta, un truck y un truggy.

Roeseler fue entronizado al Salón de la Fama del Automovilismo de Estados Unidos en 1999 y al Salón de la Fama del Off-Road en 2012.
