ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico — History will be made November 9–15 as San Jose del Cabo becomes the global epicenter of off-road racing, hosting the BFGoodrich Tires 59th SCORE Baja 1000, presented by Sylvania Off Road, in a landmark edition that will bring the legendary race entirely to Baja California Sur for the first time.

The historic event will serve as the fourth and final round of the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship, with San Jose del Cabo taking center stage as the official host destination for a week of world-class off-road racing activities, culminating in one of motorsports' most celebrated endurance challenges.

For the first time in the legendary history of The Grandaddy of All Desert Races, the SCORE Baja 1000 will be contested exclusively within the state of Baja California Sur. The demanding 978.60-mile racecourse will showcase the region's spectacular desert landscapes, rugged mountains, and breathtaking coastal scenery, while bringing competitors face-to-face with the extraordinary passion of Mexican off-road racing fans, whose enthusiasm for the sport has become an essential part of the SCORE Baja racing tradition.

The historic race will also mark the conclusion of a championship season held entirely in Mexico, continuing an 11-year tradition in which all four rounds of the SCORE World Desert Championship have taken place south of the U.S. border.

Located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, approximately 30 kilometers (19 miles) northeast of Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo offers a spectacular international stage for this milestone event. Bordering the Sea of Cortez, the world-renowned destination is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty, pristine beaches, rich cultural heritage, and exceptional hospitality, providing an unforgettable setting for competitors, race teams, media, and off-road racing fans from around the world.

With more than 290 race teams expected to take the green flag as SCORE International continues its celebration of “53 Years of SCORE Desert Racing Excellence,” the legendary SCORE Baja 1000 has already attracted 269 registered entries from 35 U.S. states and 17 countries, highlighting the event's impressive international appeal.

Competitors registered to date represent the United States, the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, host country Mexico, as well as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Ecuador, England, France, Japan, Monaco, the Netherlands, Panama, and Portugal.

DOUBLE-DIGIT ENTRIES

The legendary SCORE Baja 1000 has attracted a combined 33 entries across its three premier SCORE Trophy Truck classes, including eight in SCORE Trophy Truck, 16 in SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, now in its second year of competition, and nine in SCORE Trophy Truck Legend, reserved for drivers 50 years of age and older. These elite divisions represent the pinnacle of desert racing, featuring massive, technologically advanced racing machines capable of producing more than 1,000 horsepower.

Beyond the three premier divisions of the legendary “Monsters of the Desert,” other professional four-wheel classes attracting strong entry numbers include Trophy Truck Spec with 25 registered teams, Pro UTV FI with 21, Pro UTV Open with 17, Class 1/2-1600 with 15, Class 10 with 13, and Pro UTV Stock with eight. These figures are expected to increase during late registration, scheduled for Monday, November 9, through Thursday, November 12, during SCORE Baja 1000 Race Week.

In the motorcycle divisions, Pro Moto Ironman, featuring riders who must complete the entire race solo without a relief rider, has reached an all-time SCORE record of 37 registered competitors, highlighting the growing popularity of one of desert racing's most demanding challenges. Sportsman M/C follows with 10 entries, while Pro Moto Unlimited and Sportsman Quad have attracted eight entries each.

THE ROAD TO GLORY

The legendary SCORE Baja 1000 will feature a spectacular 978.60-mile racecourse through the majestic and rugged terrain of Baja California Sur, meticulously designed, laid out, and marked in its entirety by SCORE International President and Race Director Jose A. Elevations will range from sea level to more than 4,000 feet, creating a remarkable test of endurance, skill, and determination.
