The annual event will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT on Sunday. The colorful and extensive 51st SCORE Baja 1000 exhibit area in Building 5 will once again offer desert-racing and off-road performance fans the opportunity to interact with many of the top desert racers in the world and legends of the sport while enjoying viewing the most radical motorsports vehicles ever developed from the past and the present. Nearly 300 entries, from 35 U.S. States and 20 countries are expected to compete in this year’s 51st annual SCORE Baja 1000. The world’s most iconic, oldest, prestigious and longest continuously held desert race, this year’s SCORE Baja 1000 will be held starting in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Dates for the race and race week festivities will be Nov. 13 through Nov. 18. The race is annually the finale of the four-race SCORE World Desert Championship which has been held exclusively for the past three years in Baja California. In addition to showcasing current SCORE desert racing vehicles, drivers and sponsors, the 51st SCORE Baja 1000 official course map for the race will be unveiled by SCORE officials at 3 p.m. (PT) on Saturday along with outlining the race schedule including the SEMA Qualifying activities for the marquee SCORE Trophy Truck division. BOOK SIGNING—‘Racing Into History’ As a special added attraction to the SCORE Baja 1000 Exhibit at this year’s event will be a pair of book signing sessions to help launch the sale of the new 416-page hard-cover book entitled ‘Racing Into History’, a pictorial celebration of last November’s BFGoodrich Tires 50th SCORE Baja 1000. While the elaborate book, which features a historical records section as well, will be on sale both days the showcase book signing sessions will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. PT on both Saturday and Sunday at the Expo. Among the legends, past and present, scheduled to appear at the SCORE Baja 1000 ‘Racing Into History’ book-signing sessions are SCORE owners Roger and Elise Norman, legendary Ivan ‘Ironman’ Stewart and current racers Larry Roeseler, B.J. Baldwin, Rob MacCachren, Ed Herbst, Bryce Menzies, Cameron Steele, Heidi Steele, Justin Morgan, Mark Samuels, Carlos ‘Apdaly’ Lopez, Jonathan Brenthel, Jordan Brenthel, Marc Burnett, Broc Dickerson, Wayne Matlock, Kristen Matlock, Joe Bacal, Raul Rodriguez Jr and Christian Sourapas. SCORE also expects some other ‘surprise’ SCORE Baja racing legends as well for the two autograph sessions including several of the Monster girls. COURSE UNVEILING At 3 p.m. PT on Saturday, SCORE will unveil the official course map for the 2018 SCORE Baja 1000, the 51st edition of the iconic Granddaddy of All Desert Races. It will be a loop race starting and finishing in front of the historic Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center and will cover approximately 820 miles of the majestic, magical and unforgiving northern part of the Baja California peninsula. AMAZING SCORE VEHICLES Among the SCORE racing vehicles expected to be part of this massive SCORE Baja 1000 exhibit are a Terrible Herbst Motorsports SCORE Trophy Truck, Joe Bacal’s new SCORE Trophy Truck, one of Brenthel Industries Trophy Truck Spec trucks, Tecnovision’s all-electric open-wheel race car driven by Raul Rodriguez Jr, one of the Matlock’s Polaris RZR UTVs, Marc Burnett’s Can-Am UTV, the Justin Morgan/Mark Samuels Honda CRF450X motorcycle, the Warrior Built motorcycle, Brian Chachua’s vintage SCORE championship Jeep and the impressive SCORE ‘black beauty’ pre-runner. NUMERO UNO, DOS TIEMPOS In a special voting held in 2016 and 2017, the invincible SCORE Baja 1000 was selected as the No. 1 motorsports event in the world both years in a reader’s choice voting conducted by the USA Today newspaper, defeating such events as the Indy 500 and the Knoxville Nationals. MORE EXPO INFO The 2018 Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo will once again be the largest and greatest collection of off-road companies, parts, equipment, gear, and experts assembled in America. From off-road racing to rock crawling, trail riding to sand sports, motorcycles to quads and camping to adventure travel, the event provides the unique opportunity to meet and talk with the most knowledgeable people in the off-road industry. With a full weekend of excitement, other event features include over 350 industry-specific vendors, the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Demo at the MAV TV Proving Grounds, Rubicon Trail – Off Road Vehicle Ride Along, O’Reilly Auto Parts Show-N-Shine and live music all weekend at the STEEL-IT Main Stage presented by Bud Light.
